More than six months after Joe Biden’s disputed victory in the 2020 US presidential election, there are still suspicions of election fraud.

Despite Trump’s efforts to overturn the election, and despite the utter chaos and escalating violence caused by Trump supporters following the election, Joe Biden was sworn in as President of the United States. Since then, Trump has refused to acknowledge the election results, blaming his defeat only on fraud.

Knowing that his chances of getting reelected were slim due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the popularity of the postal voting system, Trump sought to raise the subject of election fraud to enhance his chances of remaining in the Oval Office.

Trump’s two legal choices were to make a specious argument to the Republican-controlled Supreme Court or to the House of Representatives, where Trump supporters control 26 of the 50 states that may have helped him win the election.

However, a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll found that the majority of Republican supporters still believe Donald Trump won the controversial 2020 presidential election and that his defeat to Joe Biden was only due to tampering with the voting system. According to the study, 53% of Republicans think Trump is the legitimate president of the United States, whereas just 3% of Democrats and 25% of non-partisan Americans believe so.

After announcing Biden’s election victory, Trump pressed for fraud accusations, alleging that the US Supreme Court was completely ineffective in the face of significant fraud claims.

Officials declined to investigate Trump’s assertion that he had indisputable evidence of election fraud. In reaction to the Supreme Court’s refusal to investigate his claims, he was quoted as saying, “If the election is rigged, we will lose our nation.”

Furthermore, the poll finds that over a quarter of Americans, including 56% of Republicans, believe the election on Nov. 3 was rigged and ruined by vast irregularities.

The Reuters/Ipsos survey elicited a happy response from Trump, saying “I’ve always felt Americans were clever. Sixty-six percent believe the 2020 presidential election was rigged. They stole (my victory) in the election, according to 61 percent of American citizens.”
