According to the Qatari-based Al-Jazeera’s correspondent in the occupied Bayt al-Muqaddas [Jerusalem], the chaotic Israeli “Flag March” took place in the Muslim quarters last Sunday, May 29th, amid the presence of a large number of Israeli security forces, culminating in violent assaults against Arab civilians.
The annual parade commemorates the occupation of the eastern section of Bayt al-Muqaddas by the Zionist army during the 1967 Six-Day War.
According to the eyewitnesses, thousands of Israeli participants in the Flag March chanted derogatory slogans against the Prophet Muhammad [PBUH], while others chanted “Death to the Arabs” and “Your villages will burn.”
In reality, the derogatory chants directed against the Prophet of Islam [PBUH] by Zionists are tantamount to a direct affront to the fundamental sacred values of over 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide. This heinous incident was facilitated, according to Palestinians, by the treacherous peace agreements between the UAE, Bahrain, and the Zionist regime.
According to Adnan Ghaith, the Palestinian Authority’s appointed governor for Bayt al-Muqaddas, the Israeli occupation attempts to drag the region into a religious war by systematically desecrating Islamic and Christian holy sanctuaries. Ghaith noted that the Israeli authorities would not have gone so far in their current profane acts if it hadn’t been for the rush of some Arab reactionary regime that normalised relations with Tel Aviv.
Mr Ghaith slammed the international community’s double standards, stressing that the world does not accept any criticism against Israel’s apartheid methods while permitting horrible insults directed against the Holy Prophet [PBUH].
In the meantime, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement [Hamas] released a communiqué in reaction to the provocative Zionist marches, saying that Israel cannot eradicate the Islamic characteristics of Jerusalem, notwithstanding the amount of cruelty inflicted against the Palestinian nation.
The Al-Jazeera network’s correspondent also confirmed that the Israeli police boosted their presence in Bayt al-Muqaddas, while Zionist warplanes hovered at a low altitude in the sky of the besieged Gaza Strip.
According to independent reports, Zionist occupation troops launched fierce attacks on Palestinian youth during the so-called Flag March on Salah al-Din Street in Bayt al-Muqaddas’ northern district, where Palestinian teenagers were attacked as they tried to raise their national flag.
In addition, reports indicate that Zionist fanatics vandalised Palestinian houses and properties in the predominantly Arab Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in Jerusalem, severely wounding several Palestinians.
Palestinian marches were also viciously cracked down on by Israeli security forces at the Beit El military crossing, linking Ramallah and Al-Bireh, and also savagely crushed pro-Palestine demonstrations in Nablus and Hebron. Israeli security officials fear that indignant Palestinians’ rallies would develop into more clashes with Israeli police, erupting into a widespread Intifada.
Moreover, large demonstrators poured into the streets of the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, condemning the egregious Israeli Flag March and sacrilegious attacks against Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Since last Sunday morning, the Palestinian “Red Crescent” has received 140 serious injuries, including 18 with live ammunition, sustained by unarmed Palestinian civilians in occupied Bayt al-Muqaddas. In addition, the “Palestinian Prisoners Society” reported that 56 arbitrary arrests were made in Bayt al-Muqaddas and other West Bank localities.
In conclusion, the inflammatory insults heaved upon the Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] highlight the utter hypocrisy of western governments in ruling out even the slightest criticism against the anti-Islam chants in Jerusalem, which would naturally enrage Muslims worldwide. Yet, the same governments do not tolerate and are adamantly opposed to any academic debates about the Holocaust that allegedly occurred during World War II.
According to political pundits, there will surely be a worldwide uproar as Muslims unanimously condemn the traitorous Arab regimes, such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia, for condoning Israeli atrocities and remaining silent vis-à-vis Zionist settlers’ shameless insults against the Prophet Muhammad [PBUH].
