Bahrain’s women suffer from rampant political, relgious & economic marginalisation & exclusion which has seriously escalated in the wake of the Feb 2011 uprising due to their demands for democracy, equality, non-discrimination & combating sectarianism. Since 2011, 10+ were extrajudicialy killed, 340+ arested for political reasons including 9 minors, 1.6K+ summoned, 32+ miscariaged due to poison gases & attacks by Bahraini security forces, 200+ students arbitrarily expelled, 380+ fired from work.
▪️They were punished because they went out in peaceful demonstrations calling for constitution reforms, freedoms & social justice. 11 years after they're still enduring from the tight security grip & violations against their civil rights. They've been subjected to: Denial of basic rights, extrajudicial killing, arbitrary dismissal from work, arrest, torture, ill-treatment, sexual harassment, unfair trial, discrimination in education & employment, hate speech, defamation, etc.
