An official representative of China’s Foreign Ministry called on the international community to oppose unilateral actions, protectionist policies against its industry and economic restrictions by the U.S. against other countries in the world.
According to AAA, Wang Wenbin said at a briefing on the U.S. policy of imposing restrictions on semiconductor exports to China that the United States has abused export control measures and so disrupted international trade in chips and other goods.
He further added: “In recent years, the U.S. has used the national security issue as an excuse to undermine normal international trade, leading to widespread resistance from the international community.”
Wenbin also stressed: “Countries should oppose Washington’s unilateral arbitrary and protectionist policies against their industries by clearly saying no.” Meanwhile, China’s Ministry of Commerce announced Tuesday that Beijing has filed a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization (WTO) over U.S. controls on chip exports to China.
China’s Ministry of Commerce said in a statement, “In recent years, the United States has generalized the concept of national security, abused export controls and impeded normal international trade in chips and other products, threatening the stability of global manufacturing and supply chains.”
