A confidential report from the European Union warned of what it described as a "dramatic acceleration" in Zionist pressure on the Palestinian population in occupied Jerusalem over the past year, Spanish newspaper El Pais reported.
The report, seen from El Pais, was delivered to the EU External Action Service (EUAA) by diplomatic representatives in Jerusalem and Ramallah of almost all EU member states. He said EU member states should "unequivocally" oppose unilateral plans that the document described as aimed at "altering Jerusalem's status and borders."
“In their latest annual report on the disputed city, the European Heads of Mission to the Palestinian Authority (in East Jerusalem and Ramallah) warn that the events of 2022 'highlighted the growing fragility of the Palestinian presence in Jerusalem, the worsening socio-economic of Palestinians and the need for their protection',” El Pais reported.
The EU's confidential report also reveals the "separation of Palestinians from the political, social and economic life of the city" and highlights Israeli violations, such as the demolition of Palestinian houses in occupied eastern Jerusalem and the construction of settlement units in their place.
