Europe and the United States provide Ukrainian Armed Forces with weapons

The assistant head of the Interior Ministry of the Luhansk Republic reported that 80 percent of Ukraine's armed forces are supplied by Western countries (Europe and the United States).

According to the AAA news agency, Vitaliy Kislev said in this regard that only 20 percent of the light weapons are still Russian, i.e. Kalashnikov assault rifles and hand anti-tank grenades, while the rest are NATO weapons. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg earlier said that there are currently no conditions for a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine and supported the continuation of active arms deliveries to Kiev. According to Stoltenberg, NATO members “are constantly discussing what systems [arms] they want to supply.”

Meanwhile, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov on Thursday, stressing that Moscow is using all diplomatic tools to counter Western arms transfers to Ukraine, said: “The member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization are joining the war in Ukraine more than before and have expanded arms supplies to that country.” China’s representative to the U.N. expressed concern about the possibility that weapons sent by the West to Ukraine could fall into the hands of extremist groups.

According to the Sputnik news agency, Geng Shuang noted, some reports indicate that paramilitary groups in the Middle East and Africa have illegally purchased weapons that have actually been provided to Ukraine as outside support. Shuang said this at a Moscow-initiated UN Security Council meeting titled “Implications of Increased Arms Supplies to Ukraine in Different Regions of the World for Global Peace and Security.”

In this regard, Russian representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said: “Among the weapons supplied to Ukraine, which we fear will end up in the hands of extremist elements in other regions of the world, are American multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) Himars and anti-tank missile systems. Nebenzya specified: “HIMARS missiles are guided by American satellites, and Washington Army personnel on the ground coordinate satellite and intelligence information.
