The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) condemned Israel's decision to build a new Israeli settlement north of Quds.On Monday, the Israeli regime approved plans to build a 1,700-unit new township in the village of Beit Hanina in the north of occupied Quds.
According to the Safa website, the Hamas movement condemns the Israeli regime's decision to develop settlements in northern Quds and calls on the United Nations to fulfill its international responsibilities regarding stopping the construction of illegal settlements and ending the Zionist occupation.
Mohammed Hamadeh, Spokesperson for Hamas in Quds city Tuesday (13/6/2023) said that the decision of the Zionist regime authorities to develop settlements in the western triangle of North Quds and build 1,700 new settlement units to expand the two Zionist settlements known as Ramat and Ramat Shlomo as new crimes and ethnic cleansing by the cabinet of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian nation.
Mohammad Hamadeh alluded to the weak attitude of the international public towards the Zionist settlement which led to the courage and encouragement of the Israeli authorities to commit more crimes and violate international resolutions and agreements.
By building Zionist settlements and demolishing the homes of Palestinians, the Israeli regime is trying to change the geographical structure of the Palestinian territories and give the territories a Zionist face in order to consolidate their dominance in the Palestinian territories.
In fact, according to UN Security Council Resolution 2334, the settlement activities of the Zionist regime are illegal. (PH)
