The Lebanese Hezbollah movement has condemned the insult to the holy Quran in Sweden.
The Lebanese Hezbollah movement announced on Sunday in a statement that the action is considered a huge insult to the Muslim ummah across the world, from East to West, according to the Al-Ahad news site, and it is by no means possible to remain silent in front of it.
Hezbollah added: “We believe that the Government of Sweden bears full responsibility for this abusive act and call on this country to immediately punish the perpetrators of this crime and prevent the recurrence of such crimes.”
Lebanese Hezbollah also called on Islamic governments, the Muslim marjaiya, and Muslim bodies and institutions to condemn this huge insult and work to shape world public opinion to prevent such dangerous acts from happening again.
Following the burning of the Holy Quran in Sweden by a far-right man in front of the Turkish embassy, Islamic countries including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait and Turkey protested against this offensive and anti-Islamic act.
Thousands of Yemenis in northern Yemen’s Sa’ada province took to the streets on Monday and demonstrated against the desecration of the holy Quran in Sweden.
Yemeni demonstrators, expressing anger at what happened on Saturday in Sweden, denounced the silence of some Arab and Islamic governments regarding this crime, Al-Masirah TV reported.
The participants in this demonstration chanted slogans such as “Anger, anger, anger! The Koran has allies and the oppressor will be disgraced”, “Those who burn poetry are Zionists and Americans” and “Muslims unite and do not fear enemies.”
According to this article, the Governor of Saada Province, Mohammad Jaber Awad, during his speech at this demonstration, held the Swedish government responsible for the consequences of this shameful criminal act and called on Muslims and free people of the world to take to the streets to protest against this act.
The political office of the Yemeni Ansarullah movement also said on Sunday that it condemns the burning of the holy Quran in Sweden and considers it a hostile act against Islam and Muslims.
The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the criminal act of burning the Holy Quran in Stockholm. According to the al-Ahed news site, Hussein Ibrahim Taha warned that this provocative action, once again carried out by far-right extremists, is directed against Muslims and offends their sacred values.
He called the act of burning the Koran a sign of the fear of Islamophobes and xenophobes and called on the Swedish government to take the necessary measures against the organizers of this act and demanded an increase in international efforts to prevent such actions and support the fight against Islamophobia. Earlier this action was condemned by many Arab and Muslim countries.
Rasmus Paludan, leader of the far-right Danish Hard Deal party, burned a copy of the Koran outside the Turkish embassy in Stockholm on Saturday under heavy police guard. This act of Paludan was strongly condemned by Muslims and Islamic countries, and the Swedish government was also criticized for not preventing the act.
