Israel: Hezbollah will hit harder

The newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth refers to the warning of Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah and says that the Lebanese Resistance is capable of reacting strongly to Israeli actions.

A day after Hezbollah fired a barrage of rockets from Lebanon at military bases in the northern occupied territories, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah warned on Saturday of escalating tensions on the borders with occupied Palestine.

According to Yedioth Ahronoth, two rockets landed on Wednesday near the town of Krayt Shamuna and caused fires that did not cause any casualties; after the firing of twenty rockets, some of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome anti-missile system, Israel said on Friday that it did not want to escalate tensions.

Speaking on the occasion of the commemoration of the end of the second Lebanon war in 2006, Nasrallah said Saturday that the Israeli air strikes were a dangerous action that “we have not seen since the end of the 33-day war,” the Israeli newspaper noted.

For Yedioth Ahronoth, the speech delivered by Hezbollah’s secretary general shows that any Israeli air strike would receive an appropriate response.

“We chose the open fields in Shebaa to send a message. We can take another step later (to intensify our actions). Hezbollah’s options will include retaliation against any playing field in northern occupied Palestine,” Nasrallah warned, referring to the Galilee or the Golan Heights.

“We have always said that we do not seek war and we do not want war; but we are ready for any eventuality,” he stressed while Tel Aviv estimates that Hezbollah has more than 130,000 rockets and missiles that can bomb any place in Israel.

This response from Hezbollah, the prospect of which frightens Israel to no end, has also prompted the latter to put pressure on the media front. Hezbollah’s Secretary General returned to this media battle in these terms:

“Our media confrontation (in case of defense and attack) is based on rules, we must clarify the position to the people. To do this, we have a logic, arguments and reasoning to present to the people so that they have the ability to analyze and take a position. People should not follow us unconsciously so that the way is preserved, and therefore it is necessary to rely on truth and honesty to relay the facts, we do not slander anyone and do not accuse anyone without proof. We are neither slanderers nor insulters.”

He continued, “Today, in Lebanon, we are fighting a very delicate and long battle, and therefore the environment of the resistance and its public must be aware, insightful and enjoy a certain level of responsibility, because the issue of public topics is not in the hands of the Resistance command, but it is open to everyone, especially since many address such issues on social networks. We do not claim to be able to control social networks, we can not make the political command assume this responsibility, because the positions that the public adopts, are positions taken in the media. Often it is beyond us, so it is up to everyone to take this responsibility, to be clear-sighted and not to get carried away by emotions and write anything, because this will reflect negatively on the environment and reality. I call on our audience to be patient and wait for the position of the Hezbollah leadership and our dignitaries. For it is in everyone’s interest to remain silent and not react.”
