The criminal-terrorist system on which the Israeli regime is based never ceases to horrify. In this regard, the UN special coordinator for the peace process in West Asia, Tor Wennesland, has called for the perpetrators of the killing of the nearly three-year-old Palestinian boy, Mohammad Haytham Tamimi, to be punished.
The UN official wrote on his Twitter account that: "I condemn and am deeply saddened by the death of a 2-year-old Palestinian boy, who was seriously injured by Israeli security forces shooting in Al-Nabi Saleh two days ago."
Israeli regime forces said they were responding to a shooting in the area by Palestinian gunmen. Civilians, especially children, continue to bear the brunt of these atrocities, Tor Wennesland added.
Two-and-a-half-year-old Mohammad Haytham Tamimi was shot on the head near Ramallah on Thursday as he and his father, Haytam Tamimi, sat in their car parked outside their home.
They were transferred to a hospital in very serious condition. Mohammad remained alive until he was pronounced dead on Monday morning. In the face of these aberrant atrocities, we would expect much more than a simple and obvious declaration of condemnation from those who should defend human rights (UN).
