Joe Biden Abandoned Ukraine to Its Own Calamity

In recent years, the Ukrainian government has deployed large armed units and equipment near Russian borders, allegedly to combat pro-Russian separatist guerillas in the Donbas region’s Donetsk and Luhansk.

In case Kyiv and its western allies respond aggressively, a section of the Russian military has been stationed on the western border.

Meanwhile, several Western governments, most notably the United States, have taken advantage of the situation to increase pressure on Russia and urge Kyiv to take anti-Russian measures.

Meanwhile, American news outlets have wrongly reported that Russia is planning an invasion of Ukraine early next year.

Even the Ukrainians initially dismissed such allegations as “fake information,” according to Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, but then changed their minds and endorsed the bogus accusations.

Officials in Moscow have said unequivocally that no decision has been taken to invade Ukraine, and have asked that NATO’s harmful expansion to the east be halted, as well as security assurances for the Kremlin in this regard.

In the face of the Kremlin’s unambiguous guarantees, Ukraine’s allies reversed course, dismissing any military support for Ukraine in any potential confrontation with Russia and maintaining that the prospect of sanctions and economic pressure on Moscow is sufficient.

In line with Western propaganda against Russia, the British Prime Minister warned that Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine would be “catastrophic” and that London and its allies will only respond with a package of “extremely tough” economic sanctions. Although Washington and NATO have advocated for more troops to be sent to NATO’s eastern member states, US President Joe Biden, too, told reporters that deploying US ground forces to Ukraine in the case of a Russian invasion “has never been on the table.”

An anonymous Turkish official also stated that Turkey has no desire to face Russia and will not support Ukraine if the two countries go to war.

“This [Turkish military support against Russia] will not materialize, even with Ankara’s membership in NATO and the expansion of its military cooperation with Ukraine by selling TB-21 drones to Ukraine,” he told reporters.

Following the announcement by Biden and other Ukrainian allies that they would not send troops to Ukraine in the event of a Russian attack, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, who was in London, warned that if Washington did not send troops, Kyiv expects its European allies to come to the rescue.

“This is a struggle that we are fighting on our own. We understand how to fight. We do not require foreign armies to fight for us, but everything that enhances our army is welcome “Kuleba explained.
