Well-informed sources reported massive Russian air strikes on the positions of terrorist groups in northern Syria. The terrorist group "Tahrir al-Sham" (Al-Nusra Front), which has always suffered successive defeats from the Syrian army and Islamic resistance forces in different regions of this country, is still present in the de-escalation zones in Syria with the support of Turkey and continues its hostile actions .
According to the Sputnik news agency on Saturday, Russian fighter jets carried out massive strikes on the positions and weapons and ammunition depots of the terrorist groups Jabhat al-Nusra, the Turkestan Party and the group known as Al-Turkmaniya al-Sahiliyya al-Avali in the direction of the northern suburbs of Latakia and Jisr al-Shugur in southwestern Idlib.
A senior field source said in this regard: "During these attacks, a number of targets were first carefully identified, and reconnaissance aircraft of the Russian army determined the positions from which the terrorist drones took off."
According to this report, over the past two days, terrorists have attacked houses and residential areas in the suburbs of Latakia and Hama with the help of drones.Local sources also reported that a terrorist drone was shot down on the outskirts of Latakia. It should be noted that, according to the 2017 agreement between Iran, Russia and Turkey as guarantor countries of the Astana process, four de-escalation zones were created in Syria.
Three regions came under the control of the Syrian army in 2018, but the fourth region, which includes the province of Idlib in northwestern Syria, as well as areas and parts of the provinces of Latakia, Hama and Aleppo, is still in the hands of terrorist groups, and most of these territories is in the hands of the most active terrorist group, Tahrir al-Sham.
