Qassem Soleimani's arrival in Lebanon at the beginning of the war was very important. He could have stayed in Tehran, or he might come to Damascus near Beirut. Damascus in those days was safe from any Israeli aggression, but Hajj Qassem went to Lebanon.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah says, “In the first day when Hajj Qassem Soleimani arrived, we had a meeting. He arrived here [Lebanon] at the first days of the war. After the meeting, he stayed here for a few days, and despite dangerous conditions, he returned to Tehran to transfer the information to Imam Khamenei and the officials, then he returned to us with a verbal message from Imam Khamenei. This message remained with us until the last day of the war. "
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah added, "When the ceasefire truce was announced, Hajj Qassem spoke to me and said: I am sure that the war is over, then he returned to Tehran."
Throughout the war, Hajj Qassem accompanied the resistance in Lebanon. This information was not revealed until recently, and it was among those things that remained secret. It was revealed a few months before Hajj Soleimani’s martyrdom
