Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah says, “When the martyr Qassem Soleimani returned from Iran to Lebanon, he had a message with his handwriting. Soleimani said: “Sayyed Khamenei gathered all officials of the Islamic Republic in Mashhad province and talked about war and what the Islamic Republic can do for Lebanon and the Islamic resistance. Then, Sayyed Khamenei asked me to write what he says. "
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah added, " Qassem Soleimani came and read to me what Sayyed Khamenei said at that meeting. Sayyed Khamenei mentioned a new and very influential issue about the war. Some in Lebanon tried to say that the reason for the war in Lebanon was the capture of two Israeli soldiers by Hezbollah.”
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah added, " Sayyed Khamenei said in the letter that the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon was under the care and kindness of God because Israel and America had planned a war on Lebanon at the end of summer, and they were preparing for that, but when the two soldiers had been captured by Hezbollah they [Israel] started the war. Hezbollah took the factor of surprise from Israel to destroy the resistance and Lebanon, and we were ready for the battle they were preparing for
