Türkiye's interior minister criticizes US interference in other people's affairs

Commenting on Western support for the Turkish opposition, Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu asked to show at least one region of the world that began to flourish with the arrival of the United States and Europe. According to the minister, there are forces now working against Turkey.

"International associations are working, magazines and newspapers are working, the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK, banned in Turkey - ed.) is working, FETÖ (the organization of the preacher Fethullah Gülen, to which Ankara associates the 2016 coup attempt - ed) works", Soylu quotes the Hürriyet newspaper. The minister said that Turkey "suffered losses from all this".

"Our future generations will also suffer. Where is the improvement between the places where America and Europe have entered?" the minister said. Soylu is known for his harsh statements against the West. Earlier, he had accused the United States of trying to create a terrorist state near the country's borders. After the terrorist attack in Istanbul last year, he said that Ankara does not accept Washington's condolences.

Earlier, during a meeting with young people, he said that the United States "continues to lose its reputation", the whole world "hates America" and Europe is a "platform" of the United States. On Wednesday, the interior minister also accused Washington of trying to interfere in the country's elections.
