Finally, the vindictive enemies who could not stand the bravery and power of General Qassem Soleimani launched an assassination operation toward them on Friday dawn, January 3 2020. The illegal attack was carried out by American drones on two vehicles carrying General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, deputy of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Unit Forces. In response to the threat of assassination by US officials, General Soleimani used to say: “This is not a threat, it is a joke and comedy. In response to people who think that we will be intimidated by threats, I say, O God, grant me martyrdom in your way by the hands of the enemies of your religion.”
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed the news of the martyrdom of Major General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the IRGC's Quds Force.
