Zionist regime demolishes Araqib village in Negev for 218th time

Israeli authorities have demolished all tents and structures in the Palestinian Bedouin village of Araqib in the Negev desert for the 218th time in a row, displacing its residents.According to local sources, Zionist forces and employees of the Bedouin development authority responsible for these demolitions raided the village and wreaked havoc.

As a result, scores of Bedouin, including children, have become homeless again and will endure the harsh weather conditions of the desert for some time before they can have new makeshift homes.Residents of Araqib live in a constant state of fear as they expect the demolition of their village as they rebuild their homes. About 22 families, for a total of 110 people, live in Araqib.

An estimated 80,000 Palestinian Bedouins, who hold Israeli citizenship, live in various communities in the Negev, who are often denied vital services, such as water, electricity and educational facilities.

The demolition of al-Araqib and other villages in the Negev is considered a systemic Israeli policy aimed at expelling the indigenous population from the Negev and relocating them to government-designated areas to pave the way for expansion and settlement construction for Jewish communities.
