Abu Rayhan Biruni, an exceptional Iranian scientist, mathematician, astronomer, and historian, holds the distinction of being the first person to successfully calculate the approximate radius of the Earth. Remarkably, his calculation was incredibly accurate, differing only by a mere 17 kilometers from NASA's current estimate of the Earth's polar radius.
