He was arrested by the occupation in 1982 for 6 months due to his resistance activities. Then in 1988. he was arrested for the second timeand sentenced to four terms, including three life sentences and 25 years. He spent 23 continuous years in prison. 4 of which were in solitary confinement.
The Shalit Deal
Hegained his freedom in 2011 as part of the Shalit Deal (Swap of Loyal Freedmen) in which he played a rolein setting the terms and conditions.
