Article 51 of the United Nations Charter
Article 51 of the United Nations Charter gives member states of the United Nations the right to claim the right of self-defense if they are committed to the principles of the UN executive system. This article allows countries to claim the right of self-defense if they come under armed attack, under the following conditions.
Armed attack
The right to self-defense is activated only
in case of an armed attack on countries.
Direct action
The right to self-defense must be directly related to the country that has been targeted by the attack.
Notification to the Security Council A country that uses the right of self-defense must immediately notify the Security Council.
Compliance with the principles of the Charter
A country that uses the right of legitimate defense must comply with the principles of the United Nations Charter in these actions.

On April 1, 2024, the Zionist regime of Israel launched an air attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, as a result of which seven of Iran's official military advisers were killed.
The Islamic Republic of Iran, in response to this crime and to prevent further Israeli encroachments on their official interests, on April 13, 2024, attacked several military bases in Israel in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations, and with official notification to the Security Council.
