DISCOVERED THE MASS GRAVES OF BOARDING SCHOOL CHILDREN

Between 1883 and 1996, around 150,000 Canadian Buddhist children were forcibly separated from their families and sent to boarding schools which were established by the Catholic Church. The aim was to alienate these children from Canada's indigenous communities and to prevent the promotion of their mother language and traditions and their forced N upbringing.
