Responsibilities of martyr Shushtari:

- before the Iraqi imposed war on Iran: fought separatists in Kordestan province (western Iran) and Gonbad Kavous (northeastern Iran).

- amid the war: commander of the 5th division (holy Najaf headquarters), commander of Hamza  headquarters.

- After the war: Deputy

 commander of the IRGC ground forces, commander of Zahedan's Quds headquarters

The enemies were aware of martyr Shushtari's power and their own weakness. The security plan was the product of  the leader's pure thoughts and the sincerity of the IRGC commanders and martyrs such as martyr Shushtari.

A glimpse at Brigadier General Shushtari's services to Sistan Balochestan province:

- Creating Unity between Shias and Sunnis.

- Localizing security and handing it over to the local youth.

- Founding medical centers and advanced field hospitals in underprivileged areas.

- Providing services to underprivileged areas and creating jobs for poor and lonely women.

- Constructing roads, schools and mosques.

Brigadier General Shushtari's cultural efforts revived the Sunni youth's hopes. He caressed the orphans like a kind father and assisted the widows, the elderly and those in need. 

Martyr Nourali Shushtari:

I wish to be in the battlefield and to get martyred and my body is ripped apart in the path of God. 

In the morning of October 18, 2009 Brigadier General Shushtari along with 41 others including a number of IRGC commanders, civilians, Sunni leaders and clerics were martyred by a suicide agent of terrorist leader Abdolmalik Rigi who attacked a conference of "Unity among Shia and Sunni tribes of Iran" in Sarbaz region, Sistan and Balochestan province.
