Haim Weizmann wrote in his memoirs: »It was the fierce resistance of the Palestinians, and the resistance of Mufti Amin al-Husseini and the insurgents that delayed the implementation of the plans in Palestine until 1948, when the project of announcing the establishment of Israel was scheduled to be completed by 1934 at the latest».
