French colonialism did not stop committing crimes in the years after the direct occupation of countries. For example, France launched wars against Tunisia, including the bombing of the village of Sidi Youssef in 1958 on the Tunisian-Algerian border, and the battle of Bizerte in 1961, and it was the first accused of supporting members of the Hutus in Rwanda to carry out mass killings against members of the Tutsi minority in 1994, in which about 800 thousand of them were killed.
