Iran is located in western Asia and is bordered to the north by the Caspian sea and to the south by the Persian Gulf and the Oman sea. The country shares borders with lraq and Turkey to the west, Afghanistan and Pakistan to the east, and Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan to the north. Iran covers an area of approximately 1.64 million Square kilometers and boasts diverse geography, including the Zagros and Alborz Mountain ranges, expansive deserts and fertile plains.
