Holy Shrine Defenders: Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq

Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq (League of the Righteous) is one of the largest Shiite armed groups active in Iraq and Syria. It was established in July 2006 under the leadership of Sheikh Qais Khazali after separating from the Mahdi Army of Muqtada al-Sadr. With the start of the takfiri attacks on Syria and Iraq, the group entered the field to protect the holy shrines and has so far claimed responsibility for more than 6000 operations in Iraq.
