Holy Shrine Defenders: Iraqi Popular Mobilization

The Iraqi Popular Mobilization, refers to a section of the Iraqi militant forces that was formed in 2014, following the occupation of Mosul by ISIS in June of that year, responding to Ayatollah Sistani's jihad fatwa by the goal of helping the Iraqi army and security forces to protect Religious sites, and countering ISIS aggression, were by various groups, most of which are Shiite armed groups, but some include Sunni, Christian, and Yazidi groups.
