To produce each ton of paper, a total of 17 trees must be cut down; and about 400,000 liters of water and 4,000 kilowatts of electricity are consumed. However, using lime as a mineral, a type of paper is produced that easily matches the paper obtained from wood. Some of the features of this paper include resistance to water and moisture, biodegradability, prevention of tree felling and non-combustibility performance. Using this paper as an alternative to plastic containers is one of its unique features. In the process of producing paper from stone, limestone must be grinded and turned into micronized powder. This product is combined with other materials based on a special formulation and is produced from rock paper. Iran is the fourth country in the world to have this formulation.
