Neural prostheses (NPS) are a microelectronic system with a microprocessor chip that acts on the mechanism of the human brain to create and control movement. It is unique in its kind in the world. The most important feature of a neural prosthesis is that it creates movement naturally in a paralyzed organ, just like the human central nervous system creates movement in an organ. After 20 years of study, Iranian researchers have succeeded to manufacture a neural prosthesis device called "Paravak" to help people with spinal cord injury stand and walk. This achievement broke the US monopoly on this science and technology.
