Iraq's revolution

started in the summer of 1920 with huge popular protests against the British occupation and the implementation of the Indianisation plan in the country as a prelude to annex Iraq to Britain. The protests spread to the lower and central parts of the Euphrates areas with Karbala being a center of protests. Iraqi Sunni and Shia communities joined hands during the uprising.
