His real name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was the political and spiritual leader of the Indians in their struggle against British colonialism.

- Rejected Western lifestyle and lived a simple life.

- Tried to unite Muslims and Hindus of India.

- avoided any kind of violence in the struggle and established a new way of fighting against colonialism.

- Invited Indian people to boycott British goods. To do so, he walked 400 kilometers to get salt from the sea with several hundred thousand people.
