Omar al-Mukhtar
The Libyan fighter who resisted the Italian colonizers, led hundreds of battles against them between 1911 and 1931 before being nicknamed Sheikh of fighters. Omar al-Mukhtar was captured in a battle on September 11, 1931 and the Italian colonizers executed him five days later.
