Operation Karbala-5, January 9, 1987

- Defeat of the enemy's most solid and complicated defensive line in Shalamcheh area.

- Seizing 150 square kilometers of the Iraqi soil and 11 command centers of its army.

- Capturing 2,655 Ba'athists forces as prisoners of war.

- Destroying 55 Ba'athists brigades, 870 tanks, 180 desert cannons, 1,000 vehicles, 30 fighter jets and 7 helicopters. 

- Capturing 230 tanks, 20 cannons, 200 vehicles, 100 engineering devices and 100 anti-aircraft cannons.
