The mourning ceremonies of Tasu'a and Ashura take place during the month of Muharram to commemorate the martyrdom of lmam Hussain(AS) and his companions in karbala. During these days, lranians demonstrate their religious and spiritual solidarity through lamentation, and holding mourning ceremonies.
