The Children of Tomorrow 3

Among the colours, I like pink the most. I like turquoise, red and green too! When weaving carpets, I tie the coloured threads together and create motifs of flowers and shrubs. If it was possible to knit dreams, my dreams would be full of colour. In the dreams that I’ve had, everyone has wings and can fly. To weave the wings, I use yarn that my father took to Mazar-e-Sharif and had them dyed blue.

I say: “Father! I wish we had wings too!”

My father says: “Your mind is ballet. Think of your dream!”

I think to myself that in my dreams Afghanistan has become prosperous and no one has to fight anymore.
