The goals of Iraq's

1920 revolution were to gain independence from the British colonization as well as establishing an Arab state. Despite early success, Britain managed to defeat the revolution in late October 1920 following the death of its leader, Sheikh Mohammad Taqi Al- Shirazi. The revolution widely ended in 1920 but it continued in some forms until 1922.
