The massacre of dasht-e zur
On March 15, 1988, in reaction to the warm reception of Iranian fighters by local Kurds in Dasht-e Zur region and his own losses (3 towns and up to 70 villages), Saddam Hussein staged a deadly chemical attack on large swathes of the region particularly Halabja. The criminal attack left 5,000 killed.
