The suppression of Turkmen in Iraq

Turkmen citizens were subjected to various types of oppression and persecution during the era of Saddam Hussein's regime, including:

- Thousands of people executed.

-  16,576 persons missed forcibly.

- Depriving them of the most basic rights of citizenship and basic human rights, including the right to national belonging. 

- Trying to erase the Turkmen identity. 

- Destroying villages and towns in the areas inhabited by Turkmen and displacing their inhabitants or forcing them to emigrate.
