Ota Benga (born 1883) was a cheerful young short man who lived with his wife and two children in a small village surrounded by tropical forests on the banks of the Kasai River in the Congo which was a Belgian colony at the time (1904). Despite the difficulty of the primitive life, Ota Benga was a young (21 years old) full of vitality and enthusiasm for life, practicing his role as husband and father.
