The origins of the Haganah
The Haganah - whose name means in the Hebrew language: “defense” - was established in Quds city in the summer of 1920, during the British occupation of Palestine, to be a settler Zionist military organization that expels the Palestinians from their lands and settles in their place the Jewish immigrants. The organization was formed under the name "Defense and Action Team" (in Hebrew, "Haganah and Afouda"), and the word "Afouda" was later dropped.
