Hagana played a basic role in the establishment of "Israel", as no other similar organization had.

A large number of Haganah commanders held high positions within the "Israeli" political and military systems, including Yigal Allon (high political and military positions), Menachem Begin (Prime Minister), and Moshe Dayan (Chief of the General Staff), Isaac Robin (Prime Minister) and Shimon Peres (Prime Minister and President).
