I Felt Very Ashamed
News spread that a movie was going to be made about Hajj Qassem. Even Iran’s national Channel One reported on it.
When Hajj Qassem heard this, he immediately wrote a letter to the Leader, stating:“First, there are numerous influential martyrs in the Islamic Republic whose lives and contributions should be presented as true and inspiring examples, such as Martyr Beheshti, Rajaee, Bahonar, Motahhari, and other impactful martyrs like Hemmat, Zein al-Din, Baqeri, and Kharrazi. Above all, we have the ‘living martyr,’ the Supreme Leader (may God bless him), who has dedicated over sixty years to the struggle.Secondly, I felt very ashamed when I heard this news. You wish to make a film about someone who still fears for his own fate. Not only am I dissatisfied with such an idea, but I strongly reject it.”As long as he lived, he never allowed anyone to document or portray his life.Source: Brother Qassem, Abu Thar Mahrawan, published by Mehra, Amir al-Mo'meneen, pp. 15-16
