Pager explosion

In the afternoon of September 17, 2024, Lebanese news outlets reported a series of explosions involving Hezbollah's communication devices.
The explosions, which targeted the pagers used by Hezbollah members, resulted in several deaths and injuries.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation, with various theories being proposed. Speculations range from a possible cyberattack to the placement of explosive materials in pager batteries.
However, more significant than the method of the operation is its objective. Evidence indicates that Israel aimed to update its database by identifying the injured individuals.
Since the onset of the war in Gaza, Hezbollah has effectively paralyzed the daily life in northern Israel, while the people of southern Lebanon have maintained their routine activities. This situation has consistently provoked the Israeli regime’s anger.
In light of the evidence at hand, it can be concluded that the pager explosions were an attempt to extend the scope of the conflict into Lebanon’s social structure.
