Trauma permeates the streets of Tel Aviv

On April 7, 2023, a shooting incident occurred on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv, resulting in the deaths of three people and the injuries of six others. The mayor of Tel Aviv described the incident as a martyrdom-seeking operation, noting that it was carried out by two members of the Palestinian resistance. In response to the situation, the police urged locals to remain indoors for their safety.

That day, the Israeli Trauma Victims Association's phones were constantly ringing due to the impact the incident had on the area. The sound of deadly gunfire had a chilling effect on the residents of Dizengoff Street and the surrounding areas.

The Israeli National Trauma Victims Association (NTL) revealed a significant surge in the number of individuals suffering from post-traumatic shock over the past year.

The association's hotlines, particularly during the Shield and Arrow military operations against the Palestinians, received over 1300 calls, marking a staggering 470 percent rise compared to the previous year.
