When Telling the Truth Gets You Sanctioned: The West’s New Red Line

*When Telling the Truth Gets You Sanctioned: The West’s New Red Line*

For years, the West wrapped its human-rights violations in humanitarian packaging.

Occupation and the seizure of other nations’ resources were always sold under polished labels like “the fight against terrorism.”

But now the mask is off.

After the personal life of the Hague judge who ruled against Netanyahu was thrown into chaos, it is now the turn of Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine, to feel the cost of opposing Zionism.

Her crime was nothing more than documenting Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people.

Today, she has been sanctioned by the U.S. government, a move that has crippled her financially.

Albanese’s credit cards have been frozen, and her health insurance has been revoked.

The rising price of dissent comes at a time when “promoting democracy and pluralism” was once Washington’s official excuse for military interventions across the world.
